Hi TomSki
Les Menuires tends to get mentioned less than the other resorts in the 3 Vallees. possibly cos its in the same valley as its better known (?) neighbour - Val Thorens. Ive never stayed in it but skied through it many times. Seems a bit more french than meribel or courcheval [i.e. less Brits and Russians :) ] Skiing is great, its certainly not the prettiest french resort I've seen but that probably means it won an architecture award when it was first built ). The way the season is starting the snow should be great. |

I think you may be missing the point, When I was teaching, I taught a number of disabled skiers, should I have told one of them that the reason he couldn't snowplough was that he only had one leg? ) |

Its a couple of years since I've done it but the bus from Tignes to Geneva Airport always used to stop at Moutiers.

I would suggest that you go by personal recommendation rather than qualification (hence my suggesting snowgurus).
As in every walk of life there are highly qualified people who are poor teachers and good teachers with very few qualifications. There isn't a qualifying body in the world that can teach the personality traits that in my opinion most good teachers have in common. The problem with many ski instructors is that they are much more in love with the idea of being a ski instructor than passing on knowledge. |

Which you were entitled to under UK consumer law. |

Any ski glove that I have ever seen can be sliced by a sharp ski edge. This wouldnt be due to any defect, just the nature of sharp things versus material. :D Any manufacturing defect should be obviously different from a slice. For someone to say what caused the damage without seeing it does sound daft. In my experience its not the carrying of skis that slices gloves its picking them up, seperately, then wrapping your hand around both edges of one ski, then letting the ski slip through the glove - I see beginners do this all the time. If they would pick the ski up by the toe piece of the binding and put the skis together before putting a hand around them - no more slices! When it comes to the bigger, chain stores many of them dont seem to understand that its better to lose a sale than lose a customer. |
