Full report expected! Looking forward to hearing how the new skis go. |

Yes, absolutely. I have been banging on about toe nails for years mainly with laughter and being ignored the result. Good to hear someone authoritative saying the same. Ladies in particular need to note that beautifully pedicured nails may need to be sacrificed to avoid black toes after a weeks skiing. |

Yeh but the problem here is with a 5yr old boy! No chance of beating a squirrell in a learning race - they are smart little wotsits  |

It looks like you are linking to a mobile youtube site ( m.youtube.com) and that it is also linking to your desktop file and not to www.youtube.com blah blah where the vid is hosted. Go to youtube and using the Share button below the video copy the URL and use that to embed in j2ski using the youtube button on top of the writing pane that you use to write your messages. |

My mother swore by mustard! Worked for me - I now rarely chew my clothes
Neither of yours will be going on chair lifts unescorted. If with ski school etc. the instructor will be putting them on with other adults - one kid on the inside is the norm and then usually the liftie is warned "tiddlies coming up" and is out by the lift to help them off and shove them out of the way to safety. I must admit to a sense of puzzlement though about the need for a handle on a chair lift exit. Not come across this idea before. Presumably you normally ski in Scotland or some such third world nation where these things are needed? In France, for example, something called magnetiski is becoming used, where kids wear a vest and are actually magnetically held onto the chair lift for safety so they cannot wriggle around and drop out under the bar. Great idea  I know a few adults who could benefit - especially after lunch! |

Whilst walkie talkies can be very useful up on the mountain and I used a pair with my son when he was younger I do think that in these circumstances a phone is far far superior.
The problem with the walkie talkie is the mountains, they just get in the way and one can cover so much distance in a mornings skiing. Unless Moogie is going to commit to staying on the same side of the hill as his GF in resort and she is going to commit to staying outside then the odds on them communicating effectively are minimal. With a phone you can send a text/message and the other one can pick it up 10 mins later and respond, no need for this bingly bingly beep needing an instant response - always tricky when flying out of control down a mogul field! |

Mittens
Personally I think 2 sets of snow clothes is essential. Neither Harry nor Lilly will be enjoyable company after being denied the impromptu snow ball fight before T because their kit is being dried! Don't forget kids are much closer to the snow than adults and will spend far more time upside down and laying in the stuff than most adults. All this comes from the experience of taking care of kids whose incompetent parents were more interested in drinking in the bar than looking after their offspring when staying in the hotels I ran for years in ski resorts. Oh and taking my own lad and nieces and various hangers on skiing over the years :D |
