Well i am thinking of doing the same thing in the same place...the Dolomites are my choice too ..the economics work in that the season lift pass is the same as going to different resorts for 3 weeks ..as to accommodation I have not really started looking yet but as you said a car is a necessity

I did the Sella Ronda on the 20th Jan ( as well as the rest of the week) ...absolutely no problem and not that busy apart from the run from the top of Ciampinoi above Selva . A great area I want to go back to...

personally I haven seen that many, and I haven't seen the "blood Wagon" go down in ages as I recall in the 10 weeks I have been on the snow in the last 3 years .. I must admit that I have friends who have damaged their ACL during skiing but this can be the fault of awkward falls rather than the failure of the bindings to open

It's a fantastic area ...I cant wait to go back next year ...apart from the cost of the lift pass a very good value

I dont think there is much in the Aosta valley having looked a few years ago The Milky way might be a better prospect but it's not that large but you missed out the biggest area the Dolomiti superski..lots of places round there and as you say round Kitzbuhel
