How does that work then Bandit? Do they have guides with them?

As far as i know the markers are supposed to count down from the top, that way you know how far you are (roughly from the end) of any particular run.
Distance however i do not know, my guess would be that there are no set measurements and the markers are simply placed so that you can see the next one from the one you are at. Thus its easy to follow a trail.

I had a similar chore once with some of my fav shorts.
it the end i had to remove every button and replace them all for a complete new set that were 'similar'. Not ideal but better than having odd buttons.

Best of luck.
Chamonix first timer

Last year i went to La Plagne and it was great.

I too want to go to Chamonix, and like Tony, i suspect i will one day as the Valley Blanche really appeals to me.

But right now i want to stick to the larger all round Ski areas to clock up the miles and gain experience.

If it were me i would look at:

La Plagne
Les Arcs
Alp D'huez
The Three Valleys.

Not through any real experience, just my own research,
What's the latest?

I've already got one.
So have I. But I need a new one. Its either going to be Haglofs, North Face or Arc'Teryx

Treated myself to a Red TNF jacket last year, i love it....i wear grey trousers with it.

Maybe a new hat for me although i will be buying a helmet so the bobble will be purely for the night time.
AND
I am also now seriously considering buying my own Skis, for which i blame those on here that comment on a recent thread of mine...thanks guys for emptying my wallet.

I knew you would ......

No, Ian ... "I knew you would' ....talk me into it that is.....
