Thats commitment. i don't think i would fancy that as travelling wipes me out.

As far as i know the markers are supposed to count down from the top, that way you know how far you are (roughly from the end) of any particular run.
Distance however i do not know, my guess would be that there are no set measurements and the markers are simply placed so that you can see the next one from the one you are at. Thus its easy to follow a trail. |

I had a similar chore once with some of my fav shorts.
it the end i had to remove every button and replace them all for a complete new set that were 'similar'. Not ideal but better than having odd buttons. Best of luck. |

Last year i went to La Plagne and it was great.
I too want to go to Chamonix, and like Tony, i suspect i will one day as the Valley Blanche really appeals to me. But right now i want to stick to the larger all round Ski areas to clock up the miles and gain experience. If it were me i would look at: La Plagne Les Arcs Alp D'huez The Three Valleys.
