Can't stop it ending but you can improve your chances of keeping it going a little longer.

My skiing is probably done about 70 30 in favour of places that are not pisted and I have had a couple of knocks to the head which I have been glad of wearing a helmet including a Pablo meets tree incident that was not good. Personally I don't see any reason not to wear one.

I am all about wearing a helmet, it is just another thing to gear-whore about. Even if there is the smallest chance it may stop me dying then it is worth while.
Obviously with blunt force trauma at 50mph not a lot would save you. |

Don't worry about it!

As someone who has been to neither places I would be more worried about the lack of sun in Whistler especially if the storm systems of the pacific roll through day after day after day which is a possibility. Good thing about big white is that it is mostly tree lined so even if vis is bad you have loads of skiing. At Whistler only the lower level are tree lined and due to its proximity to sea level and relatively warm temperatures the snow is likely to be quite soft lower down, ie beneath tree level.
