Or what about helmet stickers? Maybe Admin could organise a sew on badge for Wickers to put on his hat? |

Following the very successful J2Ski meet at Castleford in November ) attended by the Eggman family & the Salski family, I'm happy to report that a follow-up meeting took place in St. Gervais on Tuesday of this week.
We spent a few hours skiing together in pouring rain in wet, heavy snow, but nevertheless, had a good time. We met up later for a drink & then went to watch a local ice hockey match. We returned home the following day, but Eggman was able to stay on & enjoy the excellent conditions which a drop in temperatures brought. I now have to contend with constant jibes from my workmates that I met a bloke on the internet & went on holiday with him  It was lovely to be away for Christmas & skiing on Christmas day in falling snow was a real treat! Thanks to J2Ski for facilitating this liaison   |

The Ski Helmet Debate

I wore a helmet for the first time this year - & actually preferred it to my hat! I tried on quite a few expensive helmets & didn't like any of them. My ears felt too muffled & my head too 'enclosed'. I then tried a cheap one on that had been reduced in price in a high street sports shop & liked it much more (although I did peel the stickers off it). I found that my head didn't itch (which it always does in a hat), my goggle strap stayed in place, & my ears stayed much warmer (but not muffled). Combined with a polar Buff it was ideal.
This year we had just got off a gondola & were putting our skis back on. My young son (who has always worn a helmet) was bending over to adjust a boot buckle when a man standing near him dropped a ski which he had been holding upright. It hit my son on his head, throwing his head forward, but he was unhurt. Had he not had a helmet on, it could have easily resulted in a nasty head wound. For me, a helmet was more comfortable than a hat & it may one day give me the added bonus of protecting me from a serious head injury. I am, however, always more mindful of breaking a leg than I am of hitting my head :? |

Thanks Tony_H, it's ironic that people will be late getting to their ski resorts because of snow here. We will be checking in at East Midlands at 5.00am on Monday morning for the Geneva flight - so any chance of a snowflake & we'll be going down on Sunday afternoon & camping at the airport :( Thank goodness we don't have to go anywhere near London!
