Ok folks. Something for those interested in Ski Insurance to get your teeth into.
Has anyone used the annual 'Impact Multisports Card' provided by Diot Montagne, the same people that provide the Carrie Neige daily insurance with your ski pass in some areas of France? I have just read the details and at '46 Euros' for a year for an individual and '99 Euros' for a family to cover all kinds of sports it looks good. The web link for anyone interested in finding out more is www.impact-multisports.com or www.diot-montagne.fr Having read through the details it looks like a very good alternative to the annual Carte Neige in France plus it can be used all over the world including the USA. As long as you register your home address and not one in the ski resort they will repatriate you to your home in your own country if needed without any extra charges they say. Sounds very good. I would be very interested in hearing from anyone that has used this. Does it work as well as they say? |

Hi folks, the new thread for 2014 - 2015 season starts on page 29. More stuff to follow
If you ask me questions I will try to give you the answers, but I do not check this thread everyday so please give me a bit of time or send me a PM if it is urgent. The old thread is now closed, but the pictures from last season are still there if you want to see what Les Arcs has to offer. Just click on the other thread to take a look. You can also check out many more pics on my Les Arcs Winter facebook page. http://www.facebook.com/LesArcsWinter or for pics from the summer: http://www.facebook.com/LesArcsSummer There are far to many pics on those pages to post them all here. As the season progresses I will try to update this thread every week. Rock on the winter. All the recent snow has gone except on the glaciers as the temps are high again right now. All being well I hope to be back on skis/snowboard by the start of December, maybe even November if I am lucky. In the meantime, some of the webcams are now on so you can follow the progress of the winter from them if you are really keen. ENJOY |

AllyG, I will ask around next time I am in Bourg and post what prices I am told. I seem to remember around 50 Euros, but cannot be sure. It will depend on time of day/night.

Welcome to the start of posts for the new Les Arcs season 2012 / 2013.
Come here to ask questions and find out details of what is going on in Les Arcs 'on and off' the pistes including places to go in the evenings and anything else that may be of help. The summer is over, there is a little dusting of fresh snow high on the mountains this weekend although it will not last long, but still it gives an excuse to open the new thread for the coming season. Not much to report from the summer months. There has been very little work on the slopes during the summer months on the Les Arcs side of the Paradiski although plenty in Plagne Centre. Take a look at the La Plagne thread for details. They have been using the earth from the building areas to fill in the places on some pistes where the rocks were coming through skiing down into Arc 1800 and over on the Arc 2000 side and there is plenty of building works going on in various stations, but that seems to be about it for the slopes. I will try and take some pics when I am in the area again. Maybe someone that is around can add a few. Some of the web cams are now on so you can always take a look at those if you want to track the progress of the coming snow building for this winter. More details to follow here and also over on my Les Arcs Winter facebook page. Hope you all have a good season. http://www.facebook.com/LesArcsWinter |

The run to Vallandry is Green if you take the lower route. Very easy or there is a blue a little higher but still easy and to get back you have the same options coming the other way more or less.

Hi Snapzzz, been away so just catching up. Yes, Eden Arc is very nice. You should enjoy it, they have a great pool and health area.
There is a bus that runs up and down every evening for apree, but I am not sure what time it stops. You can ski in / out and it is even ok for beginners as it is right on the beginner piste. I do not think there are any bars (maybe one) open at Eden arc yet as they are still building phase 2. But it should be good when finished (not this winter). Hope you have a good holiday. Drop me a PM if you fancy meeting up. |

A lot of incorrect info on here. If you are staying in Peisey you need to go by taxi or have the chalet arrange a transfer from the Bourg railway station. If you are lucky the train will stop earlier at Aime or even Laundry but you need to check this. They can arrange a shorter transfer from these stations. On the way home you must go to Bourg if on the Eurostar.
You can only use the funicular if you want to get to Arc 1600, 1800, 1950 or 2000 areas. Not Peisey, Vallandry or Nancoix when you arrive for your holiday with your bags. Hope that helps. |
