Costs to build reef have gone from £1.4mil to £2.7mil since the original estimate 4 years ago. Basically it wont serve much of a purpose to the community only to a handful of people that like an occasional play in the sea. I think most people round here are against it. But it is the local council that think it will put Bos-scum, sorry I mean Boscombe on the map. They think it will make it more up market. Along with the reef, all the nice little flats, holiday lets and cafe's have all been pulled down and blocks of luxury flats built, which are way out of reach for round here.
There will probably be a few surf schools open, but most teenagers round here are chav's and only interested in robbing old ladies and binge drinking.
The only thing it has achieved has pushed house prices up, that was why we sold ours, made a hefty profit, bought a cheaper one in another area, different council, so I dont have to pay for the reef, can use it but dont have to pay for it.
As my hubby says 'You cant polish a turd'. We will see, personally I would sooner travel down to Newquay, much nicer

When we first moved here the surf was quite good, but over the years, not great, thats global warming for you. Hopefully reef will make a bit of difference, its certainly costing a bomb. Suppose our council taxes will pay for that.

I recommend searching the forum, before posting questions )

Obviously the job situation would be fine for me, there would be a lot of legal stuff and registering with Swiss Pharmaceutical Society, working under Swiss pharmacists for probationary periods, but not sure what Hubby could do. I would think we would still both need to work for a good few more years.

Have learnt yesterday through a works meeting, Boots the Chemist, who I work for are re-locating their head office to Switzerland. Still keeping one in Nottingham but moving widely into Europe now.
Oh just think re-location package the lot, worth looking in to I think.

Just got back from an after work stroll on the beach, yipee the workmen have finally started on the artificial reef that we have been promised for four years. Should be able to surf pretty much all year round. Normally only good surf around oct/nov and its bloomin freezin then
