Yes, I saw freezing level rising quite high from Sunday on. Not the best news. Hopefully won't last too long. Warm weather for any extended period of time can put an end to this season before Easter...

This is strange because my footbeds are the same size - made for ski boots or running, they were made for my feet and my feet stay the same size whether I ski or run.

Yes, looks like it's a late winter. Late winters are usually good winters, so good chance the best of this season is still ahead of us. And I've already had some amazing powder days.

Basically taking a lesson when something feels off is the best way to isolate the problem. Trying to ski with skis running away from you can be dangerous.

Did it persist for your whole ski holiday? This is really strange and now it's difficult to isolate the problem. Could be anything, really, including even skis on "wrong" feet or snow on boot soles/bindings, or boot not put on properly, but these normally don't last very long before being figured out and fixed. Strange. Maybe your removed insoles had something to do with it. Was it on both skis or on one side only?

If the pound rate goes up between now and your trip your gain (or missed gain) will be not particularly significant, it's not like if you are buying a flat or a car :)
They should pull out. Both decisions - to hold it in Qatar and to move to Novemebr/December are disastrous. What about Champions League? As for Winter Olympics - why not hold it in Qatar too? If they have enough money for terrorism and bribes, surely will have some left to build massive winter park under the roof for Olympics.
I never wore a balaklava and never felt I needed it. It won't fit under my helmet anyway. Buff does a job well enough on those frankly rare very cold days when it gets below -15 at the top. I agree that any improvement in this direction will increase the cost of product and if I am to pay more I want to pay for real protection rather than removing what is a minor inconvenience.
