I know I shouldn't complain, and will look back at this, as a great winter, but even I could do with a break. I think this will be one to remember in N America.
Better fire the the petrol driven snow blower again. Maybe I can cause a little local warming.

 Trencher! I'm a bit of a potty mouth myself but ooh this is taking it too far!
How do you handle skiing on ICE?

I'm not going to pretend to be any kind of expert, but I can pass on what my instructor taught me...

As you've already said, try to pick a nice place to turn. Other than that...

Good sharp edges for your skis, with no burring. A good position, open parallel, feet hip width apart, knees open, weight forward on the skis. If you do long sweeping arced turns as opposed to taking a straighter line, putting your downhill hand on your downhill knee as you come around helps to keep your upper body weight in the right place. Uphill arm slightly forwards - this helps stop your upper body pivoting away from the fall line.

None of this will stop your skis from skidding, but it does allow you to maintain balance and control and go with the flow until you get to a grippier part.
If you are I've got a friend who might like you. She's into Footballer's Wives (the programme), Footballers (real ones - good for you), The Only Way Is Essex, Wine, clay pigeon shooting and Zumba (although she has to wear sturdy undergarments).
Are you the real Steven Gerrard? :D

Awesome. I'd love to meet someone like that and pick their brains for advice.
