ok so as you may or may not know I went to the famous Niederau and was a tad underwhelmed! but anyway thats another story and from this trip i have decided what we want as a family.
So I am looking at next years 2010 ski trip (but dont tell hubby coz he thinks we are going somewhere hot! lol) So here are my requirements: Family of 4 (kids aged 9&11), looking for large ski resort with nice cruisy blues or tame reds, somewhere that links to lots of lifts (I have been to skiwelt before and somewhere like this would be ideal), we do not need apres ski in fact we only left the apartment once during this ski trip and that was to go toboganing!, not bothered what country but dont really want to have a long commute from airport to resort, we will be taking the kids out of school so not stuck to school holidays, would like to go somewhere where it is not mega expensive. (wouldnt we all? lol). I was thinking about maybe the first week in March. Is this a good time? or maybe first week in February? not bothered as long as the resort has good snow resort and is high enough. Is it worth me prebooking it this year for 2010 or should we wait till last minute? Any info will be greatly recieved and processed. Karen |

you cant expect in the space of 10 mins from one post to the next that people are going to jump in and introduce themselves! give them time at least to psych themselves up lol

Sun on the nursery slopes was one of my worries as I knew the kids would be spending the majority of their time their. When Tony H was there I dont think there was much sun at all on the nursery slopes but when we were there they were never in the shade (except when it snowed lol ).
I think going to Niederau has defintley cemented what we want as a family out of a skiing trip and that is to find a resort that has lots of long easy cruises with loads of lifts and I have a few ideas at the minute but decideing whether I should wait till last minute to book or book ahead of time. What kind of discounts do Tour operators make for children? do you get free child places? is it like a summer holiday? Karen |

I should really be emptying our suitcases (whilst freeing up some space on my sky + lol) and have in a fashion but seem to have made more of a mess than I started with

dont know if this will work but thought I would put a video clip of my son Luke on his first day of ski school to show how he came on. sorry you will have to put your head sideways. He is the one in the red jacket with grey hellmet on in front of the kid with yellow jacket and as you can see he can bearly stand up and promptly falls over.
View My Video and this was him on the fourth day View My Video |
