Well?
I read elsewhere that Ellistine et al have returned so what was the outcome? Chatting about it before hand is one thing now let's get the lowdown! Jan |

Hi All,
Here’s a link to some fairly dire video … www.auhof.co.uk/spinning.asp I promises to try harder with the presentational quality next time ! Happy spinning, Jan |

Ok,
So now we are really talking about my sphere of influence 8) The reason you can make 180 and not 360 is simple! The action to make 180 is a standard ski technique; you just ski up the hill, but quicker. You probably think of it as a “Hockey Stop” only done slightly more actively ... The reason you will stop there is because you are leaning very slightly forward and possibly looking at your skis :( You MUST stand upright. As you get to about the 160 mark, stand bolt upright and keep your ankles, knees and hips fully extended. Now use the leading hand and shoulder to “look” for the remainder of the turn. As for the skis, you must be able to sense a non-edging ski and allow it to be absolutely flat. Any edge will reduce your rotation and stop you half way. (As you have found) Once you have got this sorted you will discover that you can edge very aggressively into the first 2/3rds of the rotation but then you must totally release the edge and allow the skis to be completely flat. I once read a post by Pavel who said that skis are very shy and if you look at them they get silly and behave in a random way. This is very true for spinning. Look UP, look ROUND and NEVER look at your skis! Perhaps tomorrow I will post some video of the various stages of spinning  What ever you manage or don’t, make sure you do it with hope in your heart and Elan in your soul! I am happy to answer questions like this all night long Jan |

Mr Admin,
How can you ask:
Sure I would 8) Class is eternal, just hope it doesn't clash with my Nivica Neon One-Piece  Where do I sign? Jan |

Pav,
It's this type of info that separates this site from all others :P Keep it coming, Jan |

It’s my belief that (based on Mr Admin using a “qwerty” keyboard) he was drinking heavily one night and thought he would register a good domain name, trouble was that when he awoke the next day and checked his email he saw that rather than getting U2Ski or I2Ski or K2Ski (in tribute to Pavel) he ended up with J2Ski and being too lazy to try again he just shrugged and hoped no-one would ask ... 8)
Hope this helps! p.s. This is how legends begin, just look at what should have been noxtisoft! |

Well there's good news and bad news
We did indeed have some snow today. It started during the night and has continued during the day but the temps have been quite high so it's been a kind of wet snow in the village :( However, on the slopes it's been falling as good snow and I'm sure the piste bashers will have it in top conditions by the morning. All this being said, the pistes are in almost perfect conditions (barring the Lanerkopfl, which is sketchy at best), although anyone arriving for next week will not be disappointed, with low temps overnight the pistes have been wonderful in the morning and not deteriorating until the very last thing, post 16:15 … Just as an observation, the forecasts on J2Ski have been very accurate when looking into the next 24hrs which is more than can be said for some sites ) See ya all here soon! (Oh, and Mr Admin, when does the J2Ski shop open for us to swath ourselves in merchandise to allow easy recognition in resort?) Happy Hols Jan |

Dear Mr Admin,
I think Dave Mac makes a good point when he says so what's you plan? Could you provide a hi-res graphic that could be printed onto an iron-on transfer or much more simply provide us with the chance to buy some J2 goods? I have been wondering how to identify some of the people that I've been chatting with here and short of wearing a "Hi I'm Jan" hat I'm not sure I have a good answer - Maybe just trawl the bars shouting as usual eh ) Jan |
