Hi All,

I’m looking for an easy to read / coffee table style book that I can leave “lying around” for guests to explore the issues of Avalanche Safety. I’m thinking a good combination of pictures to grab the attention and some simple easy to follow words that might get recalled if needed.

I don’t know if such a book exists but all recommendations would be very welcome.

And before anyone says, “You need to undertake a 6 week hands on course, including at least 6 burials and 20 searches before you have any idea what’s going on” I’m sure you’re right, but what I’m looking for is a way to engage the interest of guests who would never give the issue a second thought. Not to teach them the ins and outs of the technical side of formation, triggers, searches etc, etc …

The B&W pic was exactly as you said, 1948 and on the double chair pic it couldn’t have been before 1974 because that’s when the Auhof was built and it’s clearly visible in the background.
