I was waiting for my new found ski-obsession to wear off in the summer......I'm still waiting! If anything it was worse coz I knew it was far to long until I next went!

Who-ever discovers the cure for ski-sickness will be rich!

Cure for ski-sickness? Whoa, I sure know that if it was ever invented, i'd be paying someone to get this cure off the earth! :P

Skiing is immense, by far the best thing you could ever learn IMO! :D

2 pence flights were from Ryanair, they were doing a 'ski seat giveaway' - I posted a thread on it a couple weeks back. The offer has expired now though, but keep your eyes open.

The baggage was £30 per suitcase to check in a return flight. £60 to take your ski equipment on a return flight.

Haven't booked those as of yet, but can be added on at a later date :)

I've booked up for going to Italy in March 09. Just booked the flights to Turin (2 pence per person - that's including taxes and charges ;) was a special deal I came accross, 6 pence return for 3 people. That's what I call a steal.)

Never been to Italy before mind you. Just booked it because I could, haven't dealth with accommodation etc as of yet - I'm going to Alpe D'Huez on Saturday for a week - Cannae wait! :D

Nota Bene;
RossF tends to steal signatures ;)

Welcome to the forums! :)
Happy skiing
SKI EQPT RESORT HIRE

Hey! I've had experience of hiring with Sports2000, not exactly the same resort mind you - It was this time last year I was in Valmorel, France. My first time skiing infact, but the equipment and service itself from them were really good I found.
I managed to snap one of the ski poles in half before i'd even ski'd a slope (lets not get into detail ;) haha) and they were kind enough to give me another set with no charge. So as Tony_H mentioned, don't be afraid to return to them if something doesn't feel right or you're not comfortable with what you've been given!

It is also as Mr_H mentioned, down to the staff working there at the time.
But overall, they should be helpful and assist you with anything you need!
Hope you have a great time, I'm off to Alpe D'Huez, France on Saturday! It's dragging in! :)
Ski distances on holiday

Although the website mentioned on the forum a while back gives approx distances depending on which lifts you use, it would be good if there was some sort of pedometer for skiing.

Any techies out there care to invent one?

C'mon, it's the 21st century. Of course they exist :D lol - Infact, my friend has one! Not only does it record how far you've ski'd, but the speed too (his max is 55 MPH so far :P)

Perhaps we should consider nominating an appropriate date in 2010 and then as many of us as possible could get together there?

Admin - worth following up????

I must say, that would be awsome! :D
