I'm not a sailor but do as I'm instructed and plan to learn one day.
There are very few feelings like being on an expanse of water surrounded by beautiful coast and islands. with not a person or boat in sight, heading for a restaurant that you can't reach by road, the sails whistling and the spray keeping you cool. One such day my youngest was at the wheel singing away to himself and I turned to my husband to say that this was a moment I wanted to capture in my memory bank and keep forever. Coincidentally, a photo was taken at that precise moment of me saying those words so it's there in multi colour. It's one of my favourite photos. 8) |

I'm going to stop looking at ise's photos. it's a world away from sitting at home nursing your leg and a 7 year old boy with conjunctivitous!

If your pocket is deep enough you can't go wrong with esprit chalets when it comes to the kids. not cheap though!
From my limited knowledge I can tell you that tignes val claret is good for apartments as is les arcs (we got a fantastic deal last new year). Skiworld have lots of chalets and chalet hotels in tignes le lac. alpe d'huez would be good if the kids are going to learn (be careful of location though). I haven't been there yet but val thorens would be good that time of year because of it's altitude (as would tignes). there seems to be quite a few apartments there but, from what I can see, the chalets all look to be in the same area which, although close to the village, are up a steep slope so not great with the kids in tow. Good luck :D |

I suggested to my husband that he have lessons even though he thought he didn't need them. he absolutely raved about it, they skied with their eyes closed, backwards, you name it. he now skis everything with unbounded confidence (and style).
