Never been to La Tania and suspect at 1400 m you can't guarantee full snow cover.
However, I don't consider 23rd March late. We have been going at end March/ beginning April for years and have always enjoyed our skiing to the full. You will just have to accept you may not be able to ski to the door and head to the higher areas to ski and maybe drive back to your apartment or walk a little further from the lift. We went to the 3V on 4th to 11th April a few years ago and on the last day the road to Val Thorens was closed due to heavy snowfall. Other places we've skied in April have been Samoens, Les Saisies, Puy St Vincent (great day in Serre Che too) and Les Houches/Chamonix. At Samoens you stay at 770 m and just get the gondola to the ski area. The excitement of 'going over the top' and seeing the snow covered ski area in front of you cannot be beaten. Go f'rit...the days are longer, evenings warmer and most of all it's somethng to look forward to. :D |

What a shame Hamish.
What did you think of the place on the whole? Apart from dodgy snow records are reports fair? |

Don't worry Ally, it'll be like The Big Brother house, you'll soon forget the cameras are there.

I agree with above.
My Mum suddenly had problems with foot pain and a visit to a specialist showed she had developed a Morton's neuroma. This caused her a lot of pain and she needed a fair bit of specialist advice to help her out. Her foot killed in ski boots. She wears something under the sole at the base of her toes to alleviate pressure. Again, not saying yours anything like this obviously, but the fact it's come on after many years with the same ski boots indicates it might be a physical problem rather than the boot. Good luck. |

Lovely pictures.
Was at top of Alagna gondola years a few years ago in a blizzard. Total white out, I fell off the path walking between gondolas and went straight over the edge, through the netting Was totally Wedged! It's a beautiful area. |
