We have just sold a Toyota Diesel Hilux Surf too expensive to run. But my OH had looked into buying a conversion kit to run it on veg oil. Lots of surf owners do this, but he found out you had to inform customs and excise and the amount they would charge us for the privilege was more expensive than the diesel.

When petrol went up my husband said we had to sell our gas guzzler (hilux surf).........so what did he change it for..........a subaru Imprezza. Dont think that quite worked, still at least petrol has come down now.

I think given that option I would be inclined to go private. Lessons will be more tailored to your needs. I have been on the other end of the scale, group snowboard lessons of which it was hubby and I who could not keep up, we would have ended up doing ourselves an injury trying to keep up with a group of lads who were streaks ahead of us. Plus in most resorts a private lesson can be arranged at whatever time suits you.

I am lucky too, birthday in January so always celebrate it in the mountains. My 50th was spent in Seefeld, continually new snow coming down it was lovely. We always stay at the same hotel and they always give me flowers, champagne and chocs. Last year they put a chocolate fountain on our table..............fantastic. Plus I adore swarovski jewellery, no better place than Innsbruck to get my birthday pressie.

I do know of him, he's the Scotish lad who won his first wheelchair tournament six weeks after losing the use of his legs. He is a remarkable young man. My son reckons wheelchair tennis is really difficult, often more tiring than normal tennis. |

I am off to Ruka next year and I noticed that they have disabled ski coaching, I have never seen it advertised before. My son is a tennis coach but once or twice a week he coachs a wheelchair tennis club. He says they are amazing, their attitude is one of sheer determination, and never a cross word between any of them. |
