Wearing same socks all year?????

or wearing ski socks in Summer!

I was not aware that you had to "wear in" ski socks! Mine come all ready "fitted"!

I think it'd be more accurate to say that I'm wearing them "out" rather than "in", they're going to need replacing before my next trip!. They're just sooooo comfortable and I love them.

When it comes to friends who ski or don't ski it's my life's work to pursuade all those that I love to start skiing!

Hi Dermot

From what I can see the Gamper is right next to the main ski lifts. If this is the case, you'd be right in the centre of the village and could ski back pretty close to your front door.

If I remember rightly, the Madeleine is a few minutes walk from the centre and the lifts. There's a brilliant bus service though if you're not too fussed about being right on the slopes.

If I was going back I think I'd be tempted to go to the Gamper. It comes out number one in the resort on trip advisor.

Good luck.

Caron
I was planning to join to get extra insurance. I've heard they can cover all eventualities, does anyone know if this is right? I'm concerned that there could be issues with my usual travel insurance people should anything happen with my knees on the slopes...

Perhaps one day all these skiers that "meet" in this site can plan a ski holiday in a ski resort that is "nearly" closed! Then Mike,Tony, Gordie, Jan, IceGhost, Caron-a, Ellitsine et al can finally meet and ski together!
I know I can convince some ski companies to provide some sample skis! I know I can convince some ski resort to just close one day later! I know I can get some hotels to provide some low low end of season rates!!!!

Its nice to still have dreams!

Could you imagine! All of us obsessives in one location!!!
It'd be quite a trip that's for sure.
how about wearing your ski socks all year.
I had mine on yesterday in 20 degrees of sun

pennyqss wrote:Obergurgl is great, but not extensive skiing, but high so it's snow sure and ski in/out. And ski esprit do a holiday in a chalet or hotel (can't remember) to Obergurgl. Lovely and lively place but small so great for kids.

Esprit have chalet verwall, a hotel outside of the town (quite a trek so I wouldn't recommend it) and a new chalet called alpenblume. If you've got beginner children you couldn't get a better location than verwall, there's your very own beginner slope with a tow rope right outside the front door! Fantastic place.
