Hi Sued it definately sounds like hamstring injury. I am not to up on the pre-skiing excercises there are some experts on here that know more about that. But it does highlight the need to warm up before any excercise. Never do any sport with out this.
So who is off next

My OH has been snow boarding to-day, not on a dry slope, real snow in Basingstoke. He went to fit a house full of windows, snowboards in the customers garage, they both went to top of hill and across field. Only about 4inches of snow, but good fun. Not fair.

While it is many years since I skied Lech, I have very fond memories of it. It was my first time skiing and Lech had lovely long gentle blue runs that really gave me a taste for skiing. Not sure about more advanced skiing and generally, I think it would be regarded as a relatively easy resort, though perhaps this is because it is somewhat overshadowed by its near neighbour, St Anton. The fact that Ise rated it his favourite weekend destination suggests it has something for everyone!.

I can't offer any help on accommodation but it might be worth checking out pension type accommodation as Ise suggests - the hotels all seem to be around the 4* mark and are expensive. If that doesn't work out, you could always follow Tony's advice and stay in St Anton and then ski in Lech for a few days over the course of your trip. I seem to recall that it is actually possible to ski over to Lech from St Anton but I am not sure of this or of how difficult the route might be! But in any event, there are regular buses between the two resorts.

St Anton is itself a wonderful resort -fantastic mountains and beautiful traditional Austrian village (though it too would be considered reasonably expensive by Austrian standards and it now quite large - be careful about the location of your accommodation!). The apres ski is amazing but not compulsory .

BTW, I thought you were off to Finland this year - planning a second trip??? If so, lucky girl .

Thanks every-one for replies, I am off to Finland but want another in Feb in Austria. I would happily go back to Seefeld but hubby wants some-where different, but this second one will have to be a bit cheaper than the first.
SNOW!!

When I was in Amsterdam a few years ago there was heavy snow, it was great, but every time we walked around the streets, people kept saying to us "the snows nearly gone". I thought they must really be interested in the weather. Me naive again, that was their terminology for their drug dealing.

Has any-one been to Lech. I have been looking around various sites and Lech looks lovely. But.........the hotels I have seen seem very expensive, are they all like that?

a great view and I was stood there with a camera, that's all you need :D

A couple of years ago my OH did a bob sleigh run and left me in charge of the camera, I had a good video camera and missed it completely, you could just see the top 2 inches of a helmet whizzing past.
