It sounds like a great holiday ...but why not take them to one of the indoor centres here fore a lesson or 2 just to get them used to skis and perhaps learning the basics

I agree Courmayeur is a good Idea..not bad skiing and there is a ski bus to La Thuile . An interesting town and also a direct bus to Chamonix or a day out
