I'm off the Bannf this year but in April. I'm sure it will warm up for us both. Yesterday Sunshine Village was closed due to the cold temperatures, -32 degrees is not much fun for anybody.
Don't forget to write a review when you get back. Enjoy yourself. Everyone who writes on this site seems to have very good words for the resorts. |

Timeforabeer,On another matter our snow comes from air masses pushing in from the north and northeast, not from New York.
Sorry Michael Fish, didn't know we that we weren't allowed to make comments that may lift the spirits in this snow droughted period. Carters999 If you do come over to Morillon then I am the one with green salopettes chasing after my boys in the distance. Have a good holiday. |

Try this link for the piste information for Samoens.
http://www.grand-massif.com/hiver/meteoconditions.php?lang=en&station=samoens&gallery_id= It gives an indication of which pistes are open and closed with other links to the surrounding areas. Most pistes are still open even with the lack of snow falling from the skies. The piste groomers must be doing an incredible job. I hope my mums "observation on the weather patterns" comes true. She says that if the USA gets extreme weather then we seem to get some of the tail end about 2 weeks later. Yesterday the east coast of the US received up to half a metre of snow in one day. Fingers crossed for a big snow fall in the next two weeks. Then again my mum is old and she is a wife. |

Hi Ian,
Glad to hear you had a good time in Morillon. I'd like to pick your brain. We are going the Morillon ourselves in the half term break with another family who are only in their second year of skiing and consider themselves to be on the greens and easy blues. Which pistes that you skied are easy blues on the Grand Massif. I'm hoping the dry weather breaks next week and the snow starts arriving to give a fresh covering. These types of cyclonic weather patterns seem to last two to three weeks. So here's hoping. Thanks for any replies you may post. |

Hi AM_CANADIAN,
I have been to Morzine twice (2006 & 2007). Both times with the same holiday company. They have their own catered chalet and can also place you in the hotel next door. I stayed in the hotel on a half board basis and had no complaints at all. Both are only 10 minutes walk away from town. If you can find a flight into Geneva airport they will pick up and transfer. The only thing they can't offer is the ski in / ski out facility. They also gave us a guided day to show us all the hidden pistes, which during the school holidays is no mean feat. I'm not associated with the company. I just feel you can get some information and a good holiday from them. This is the link to the web page: www.simply-morzine.co.uk Best wishes |

Sorry Ian,
I'm there 5 weeks later, the same as Charlie26. Maybe you and CWagner could let us both know what the best bits of the resort are. My kids are hoping that the play park has enough jumps and canyons to keep them busy. You could always pay a beer on for us both!! :D Cheers |

Cwagner,
Have a look at this web site. The web cam is for Les Esserts at 1100mts. It is at the start of where each of your days skiing will begin. Thursdays weather forecast coud]ldn't be more exciting for you. http://www.ot-morillon.fr/activites-hiver/ski-alpin-les-webcams-du-grand-massif.php |
