Thanks Ian.
I´m thinking about either the Atkin´s and low calorie combination or the Luton &Dunstable Hospital Diet(very tough). Would you grant the same benefits to the "nautilus" station or the "ski country"(elipsoidal treadmill)? I found the last one to be a good fat burner. Any gymm apparatus to strengthen the thighs and quadriceps?. Grateful for any advice. |

I´m planning an ski vacation in America next spring.
Mostly my intentions are focused on Brekenridge and March but I´ve been told that March could be snowy. which is great as far as it won´t impede skiing. I like cold but sunny days at least for 5 out of 7 days. Anyway as far I could ski without blizzards and seeing where the hell I´m heading to would be fine. I want to avoid as possible half term holidays as, although the americans have different ones than ours, to avoid high prices when booking here. The Vail ski resorts area, Summit county, seems to tick all the boxes. Brekenridge seems less posh then Vail but Vail´s got bigger skiing area. May somebody share the experieces with regards to the links to other resorts from Brekenridge(Arapahoe,Keystone,Vail,..) using the same skipass?? Would be better and moneywise staying 10 days rather than 1 week? Are the public or private transfers between resorts worthwhile or might be better to rent a car? And now the last querie.Although there are many feedback and customer review sites, could anyone tell me the opinion about where to lodge in any of those places? Thanks for the advice. I´m eager to experience the "champagne snow" especially after the fabulous ski holiday I enjoyed last March in South Lake Tahoe. |

I agree with the 1 hour landing-depart time. If you want to avoid all this parlava try PUBLIC transport.
I´m aware that there are bus conexions to Austrian resorts and from Kitzbuhel`s balconies you can waive to the german bundespolizei. Train links with the S8/S1 to hautbanhof or ostbanhof are handy. Last year I went from Standsted to Sölden using the train and bus. You can by the tickets even for the Italian Súdtirol resorts from the very München airport. |

Hi All!!
I need to be able to ski rather than roll down the slopes in 3 months. I`m now a human spare tyre in need to fit into my already XXL sized ski attire. All my inmense humanity would be grateful for some not very complex exercises and "mise en point" to both lose weight and increase the muscle fitness for ski. I lazily stopped going to the sports centre when came back from skiing in WONDERFUL SOUTH LAKE TAHOE RESORTS 6 months ago. Typical excuses:jetlag, Easter, mañana,mañana. I am positively resoluted and commited to start a diet and restart my swimming( used to swim 2500 m daily, those were the days....) and gymm. Could work out 6 or 5 days a week along 1h30 min, maybe 2 hours. Please I know there would be a charitable soul out there with a passion to make this world, and me, lighter. Thanks |

) :-P Very useful, thanks. We are going there just before the Easter Half term school holiday is finishing 12 April.
Don't mind flying from London. In fact I use Standsted a lot (36 miles) and London City roughly the same both have good public transport links from Rayleigh(ESSEX)"Conmuter Land" Most Tour operators depart from Gatwick (Flyer Bus Service): not a problem for me but might be for my mate as links not so good but could be sorted out. Anyway have you heard about Direct Travel ski insurance? |

I intend to go skiing in April,12th.
I thought Austria would be well provided with snow and as the seasson would be about to finish I chose SOLDEN. The reports say it's got glaciers and quite a lively nightscene. Seems that Prices in Austria are a bit HIGH for this late seasson.Anyone knows anywhere I could head to from England(airport connexions vital)at affordable prices?? France(Trois Vallees,Alpe D'Huez), Italy (in case there would be any glacier) Switzerland (I'm afraid prices would be high as well)?? or should I stick to Austria?? Elsewhere?? I wish I coul go to USA/Canada but the airfares would be astronomic. Thank you for your help. ) ) |
