burning thighs after about 30 to 40 mins of skiing

For me personally, the main cause of thigh burn is not having my weight forward enough. You're in effect holding your body weight up with your thighs which will never last for very long.

Try pushing your shins into the front of the boots more and stand taller and more forward. You'll then be more stacked up over your feet rather than behind them which should help.
Not sure I've ever skied in the rain.

I skied through a snow cannon in Tignes once that must have had something wrong with the air/water mix. I came out the otherside plastered head to toe in a wet icy layer of slush.

I had to use my thumbnail to scrape the ice of my googles.

I have to say he's right. I did attempt to keep up with him on the first day but eventually fear got the better of me.

This small avalance sounded like a jet plane going over. So unbelievably loud.

Carving and Speed

Assuming a basic ability to slow yourself down then surely the speed you choose to ski at is a personal decision regardless of the skiing style.

Let's face it, there's plenty of nutters out there going way too fast who probably couldn't carve a decent turn, even for a free JägerBomb!

Seriously, we had some good banter, a few beers, and spent 2 full on days on the slopes.

Top man, and I hope we meet again.

So, just for Bandit.....

Tino, You seem to have developed a bears paw where your left hand should be!!! Must be all the drink.
