Thanks!
Was up at Nevis last weekend and had another great day-even better snow but vis came and went throughout the day Unfortunately there was a huge cloud that just hung on top of the peak which stopped us dropping into the back corries-very frustrating as we saw guys doing them and they came out covered in snow, waist deep in places apparently. Low avalanche risk and the traverse out was open :-( next time! |

Aye you can't get better than oakleys-bandit is correct, i have a duffed up pair with persimon lenses but a nice pair for sunny times!
I did get a pair of poc goggles for using in Scotland and found out they have great flat light lenses in them but don't exactly know which lens they have! Green tint if that helps! |

Today was the first day of Glenshee opening and although there were only four tows running we had a cracker of a day!
Probably about 50cars in the car park and access to the cairn well side Best run of the day required a short walk up to the tiger run and then down through the wind swept powder A day in Scotland with Bright blue skies, powder snow and sun is very very rare!! Admin-can I post a photo or two without first uploading them to Facebook etc-I would love the non believers to realise just how nice today was!!! If you knew Scotland was going to be that good all the time it would be one of the best places to go! |

just to further add (incase I forgot before)
you have to go to Carolsello apres ski - at one end of the town. Go on one of the last night or you wont get any skiing down go to Bar Biblio for apple strudel-it is simply amazing! ski over to the right on the pistes to the right of the map-bit of a queue sometimes to get back as there is only one run but its so quiet and peaceful youll love it!! |

i was demoing some rosiignol skis during my season in Bormio (and hating them).
On the way back to the bottom where I was going to tell the guy exactly what I thought of them I came around a corner, caught a bump and shot straight off the side of the path. Somehow I missed two enormous tree trunks-went straight between them, hit the powder snow and front somersaulted through the trees landing in the pine needles below. I missed a 3foot sharp rock too. How I didnt break my back or at least serious injure my knees is beyond me...... To add insult to injury we couldnt find my ski that came off-it was up in one of the trees above head height!! If these work here is a photo of the moment we found it http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=476347200057&set=t.223000559&type=1&theater and here is me in shock after climbing out and guinely realising I should have been serious hurt http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=476347210057&set=t.223000559&type=1&theater moral of the story-never go at your normal speed on equipment you dont know well I now own a back brace and wear a helmet almost all the time!!! |
