Late march resort suggestions?

[MaccA wrote:]Hi Jan and thank you for the welcome.

One of the benefits of starting my own thread was the ability to ask questions of people's replies without hijacking someone elses thread. Hopefully this'll keep it on track and stop it spiralling into infinity

I know that height doesn't guarantee snow but it sure does help! We all feel ski in/out can make or break a ski holiday as a lot of people rent equipment which isn't pleasant to trudge around in. Whereas there may be snow on lower pistes it often dries up in the towns lower down quicker (from what I've read on the forum).

Also I seem to remember last winter being a very good season for snow late on after a very delayed start, so guess thid have helped towards your 850m March time skiing?

I was in Val d'Isere the week before Christmas last year and we had plenty of snow. Saying that I was also on the Hintertux in May this year with plenty of snow....

......so my reccomendation is, if you are going early or late, pick somehere with a Glacier to fall back on. I have to say Mayrhofen is a good choice for this.

Yes, go over top Le Fornet at Val d'Isere, hire a snowboard and ride "vallon" (a blue natural halfpipe approx. 2km long) onto "foret" (a rather interesting black).

I use a Columbia jacket, it has an inner hardshell and a waterproof outer shell, same sort of system?

Well put it this way, I wouldnt wanna be on a Glacier in late December with it and nothing else. I resisted reading all the bumpf, I would have nothing to do tomorrow then )

Yeeaaahh, but, you already have a whole Spyder outfit, which seems quite new. Are you sure about this...I mean, if you are bored, you could send the money to me, and I can spend it for you, well, for me, okay...on me :D

I have resisted so far, and I am sorry Bandit, I could find plenty of other things to spend 150 EUR on )
Chhers Jan, everyone's a winner!!

Jan gets his staff
The staff get more money

I guess it would depend on how noisy you were planning to be :P ... but hey why not it's a big house! It'd be handy for you to have a base here, but you would have to become an "N" type person ) I guess that's a balance you'd have to judge

Let me know what you're thinking !!

Jan

(btw - this would could apply to any other "introducers" too. But, max two extra people. The apartment has a king size bed and can easily take an additional single)

Okay, anyone wants to take Jan up on his offer, contact me and I will act as agent. I will supplement your salary by an amount to be negotiated, in exchange for board on occasion )
The only thing that surprises me is that it took 5 posts :D
If I found you someone to do the job, could I visit them and stay in the appartment occasionally? )
Burgers??? On Sunday???
