ise wrote:funny you mention that, apparently I've won the Spanish Gordo lottery today, not once but twice  the letters actually came in the post which is a new one for me, apparently there's a lot of it about, the local police issued some warning.

I'd probably buy those new socks I've been thinking about.

Apparently over the last couple of weeks I have won the lottery, been left some money, some-one else has inherited a million and wants to share it with me if they can deposit it in my bank, and the latest some-one would like to give me an unsecured interest free loan they just want my bank details to deposit it in. All emails in my junk box

I am a intemediate, but the rest of our group are beginners so are all booked into ski school. So the fact the nursery slopes are close is fantastic.

Is it a far walk to Gwastankoff and Rosschute from the hotel?

It sounds perfect for our group and am now really looking forward to going.

Really fancy giving the bobsleigh run a go!

Thanks again Rose

Nursery slopes 5 mins from hotel, Gwastankoff, no more than 15mins, the Rosschute may-be 25 mins. But buses run and they are never crowded, we just enjoy the walk. If you fancy the bob sleigh book in either the Crystal or Inghams office, Its quite pricey but well worth it. Even if there is not enough people for a coach the Rep will take you in mini bus.
Apart from a few train trips to Germany and the minibus ride to Igls we have never used any transport, you can well manage by foot. We always walk to the next villages, a good walk with beautiful scenery.

Dont know about K2, but I know for sure, Atomic,Fischer,Burton and Salamon

The ski manufacturer is less important, than the binding setup, for a rental ski. If the ski is mounted with alpine bindings, skins won't work as the binding won't hinge for you to walk uphill.

I have so much to learn for this skiing lark. I will get there eventually.

Ise do they do kids sizes in them ?

AJ Adele

I am going to try them this year as well. We have pre-booked vouchers for rental for the week. Have an evening guided snow shoe walk as well.

ise wrote:I think you know full well what skins are so knock it on the head maybe?

I thought they were what you rolled your baccie in  Seriously I have heard Ise and Bandit talk about skins, and I did'nt have a clue what they were. Now I understand thanks guys and Gals

Rose, you have a good opportunity to try out some touring kit this winter, with your upcoming trip :D

It is some-thing I think would suit us. We spend hours walking up hills and then cut through on slopes and ski down. Thats why I never buy lift passes for the week. I have found out that in Ruka there will be a different ski sponsor on the slopes every day and you can trial any of there ski's for free, might be my opportunity to try.
