And just how many of us have ever been in the world's top 20 at anything?
Let alone after effectively more than 2 years out with virtually no on slope training. There's a quote, often used by Brian Moore (the former England rugby player)that one of his teachers said to him. "There are those who try and perhaps fail and there are those that sit on the side and snigger. Which do you think are the more worthy?" We should celebrate the end of the career of someone, but for injuries, could well have been a medal contender. |

Off to Tignes on Saturday.
Anyone suggest a good bar to watch the France-England match? Andy |

My experience of Les Arcs in March was that of slush and rapidly retreating snow.
Perhaps it might be different in snow better years? I wouldn't consider it in late April. |

Apparently some of the tour operators have moved their flights to Spain because the roads to Andorra can be affected by the weather and the Spanish were more diligent about trying to keep the roads open than the French.

Lota - beg to differ - Bruce Forsyth has held that title, almost unchallenged, since the generation game.
The dipstick who presented The Word ran him close for a while. |

If you are keen to go to Andorra consider Soldeu (just up the road from Pas De La Casa and part of the Gran Valera pass and has quite a number of hotels of a good standard.)
I've been there with Direct Ski who I believe fly from Ireland. The skiing is good for beginners and intermediates: the ski schools have a good reputation. I would suggest that anyone planning to go skiing for the first time has a few lessons at home. Ski holidays are expensive and you don't want to spend that time learning how to put your boots on and learning the basics. If you've done those before you go you will have the confidence to practice on your own when ski school is over. |

Not exactly stunning so far.
We were playing "Who on earth is that?" Managed Redgrave, Brigstock, Messenger and Gough. Anthea someone from Blue Peter but the rest could have been anyone. Perhaps they were dredging the celebrity barrel but since when has being a hairdresser qualified anyone for celebrity status? Celebrity binman or accountant? I suppose C4's budget isn't big so perhaps they just got a handful of celebs and got half a dozen from the dole queue who jumped at the chance of a free week or two in Austria? |
