I'm alsmot dipping my feet in the cold waters of Cardigan Bay too, and Cardiff has always been a problem. It's Bristol for us - Easyjet to Innsbruck, and then train to Seefeld. Can't wait!!

All good advice about the proper boots to walk around in - also the slippers after getting in. The problem with boots is when you get to a place where there is dancing - they are a bit clumsy then. I wonder if there are folding shoes, or similar, which you can pull out of your pocket, and swap while you are at said establishment?

I'd go for Seefeld too. Going again this year because we couldn't do the place justice last year. A group of nice easy runs almost in the town centre, plus slopes a little more challenging further out. Nice municipal pool and spa (apparently - hope to get to that this year), plenty of venues for entertainment and food in the evening (if you wish). May not be the chocolate box picturesque (pretty enough though), but then again you'd have to be in a fairly small village to get that - and then the facilities would be sparse no doubt.

Take a look at Seefeld

The earlier you can book them the cheaper they are. I found they steadily climbed in price as time went on from when I first looked (Bristol to Innsbruck). When I looked at the beginning of March I could have got a flight for about £40. |

I'd look at Seefeld in Austria. Nursery slopes close to the town. Plenty to do if skiing does'nt take, night-life OK(?). Nice municipal swimming pool/spa. Good place for cross-country. Whether there would be enough to keep an expert challenged for a week, I woudn't know, but if the main purpose of the holiday is to bond with your sister, then maybe you are prepared to forfeit that, seeing as it's your second skiing holiday of the year also.

Well we've done it! We've booked our flight to Innsbruck, and apartment in Seefeld for £1250ish to go next Feb half-term. Would have cost about £400 more with TO, plus our apartment is right on the central square in the town. Couldn't get any closer. Would have saved another £200 on the flight if we'd have booked when we first looked, 2 weeks earlier!
