Hi,
MMMmmmm a good night you say ??? , would have to be a hot bath , and a short nap , punctuated with a couple of beers, then out for some food at either Ski Roc , Le rufuge or Hostellerie du Petite Saint Bernard then across the road to Bazoom's for a 4 hour set of live musice from Mr Orange or Sugar Lady ( two of the best live bands I've seen anywhere in the Alps ).... .....washed down with a few pitchers of beer and several large Genepi's... Followed by a lay in the following morning for an extra couple of hours :( jon. |

Hi,
Yes in deed I will be away the chez jonG in Bourg-St-Maurice , at the end of August for some well deserved R&R and then again for a cheeky long weekend in both Oct and Nov to get myself ready for the upcoming winter season...... .....I think it will be a good snowy season for winter 2011/12, will be getting myself in the mood by driving to La Rosiere from BsM , and then walking/hiking into Italy to La Thuile . Also will be trying my hand at gold panning in the rivers and streams around BsM, this time Rodders we could be millionaires :D :D :D jon. |

Hi,
Good start to next season.....or are we still officially in this years season.....one wonders :). On the lesarcsnet site yesterday there was an article about the snow on 1/6/2011 and how the sudden drop in temps and heavy dump of snow on the mountain side above Bourg-St-Maurice was responsible for the deaths of a flock of 300 sheep....BBRRrrrrrr ! jon. |

Hi All,
Sorry I've not been about lately started a new job and been busy loads.....anyway was reading net blog about a news article in Italy about how the Aosta has had snow down to 1000m in the last few days and thought I would check the local Les arcs webcam...... http://www.webcam-ski.com/interfaces/les-arcs-peisey/interface.php?pk_interface=259&m=images&r=panoramique#depart It seems that skiing in June is soon to be the new skiing in January.....bring it on :) jon |

Hi Ian,
I second that...although there is a dreaded McD's in Bourg-St-Maurice , I think many ski related countries in Europe have too many people that actually appreciate good local cuisine to let the cheap crap fast food outlets in. Good wholesome local ski food....bring it on MMmmmmm :) |
