Think you'll have a quieter apres ski in Grindelwald tino. Will be there 10th Jan. Am itching to go. Enjoy

Thats what I'm hoping for Jim ) Trying to escape Christmas and recover from last week, so its going to be riding, walking, sightseeing and reading for me!!!

Enjoy it in Jan!!

Just back from Mayrhofen also and it was a great week, Thursday and Friday being proper powder days as Sminrnoff_Skier says.

Highlights of the week were:

1. running the lift line (through the trees) off-piste next to Red 5 in 2 feet of new untracked powder at 8am.

2. riding from the top to the bottom of Black 17 (3 times in quick succession) using the piste for about 1/6th of the run, the rest of the time playing around either side of it and coming home through the trees at the bottom. In about 3 feet of powder.

3. running Red 5 down from the Ahorn with absolutely no visibility and all the snow cannons going. Cracked/bruised a rib and did some damage to the board but it was great fun!!

Found the best Apres Ski bar also at Tux-Vorderlanersbach at the bottom of the Rastakelbahn, the Hexenkessel....great fun, right at the bus stop, tidy barmaids and a schnapps called Suße Hexe (sweet witch).

According the reports I have seen today, its tipping in Val d'Isere and Tignes, I mean tipping.
1.00 EUR = 0.889232 GBP

I must say I am thrilled with the exchange rate, as I can book Snowbombing only in GBP, so it will be about 30% cheaper for me than last year!!!!! I love the Eurozone :D Think I might get a t-shirt made!!
Get this on your i-pod.

Swiss Snow

Nothing to do with snow, but the scariest road I have ever been on was on a coach from Dlaman airport in Turkey down to the beach resorts. Over 2 hours, the coach driver was overtaking police cars on a one lane either direction road.

Kids were screaming, parents panicking and you could see the occasional wreck of a bus/van that had left the road.

Petrifying.
