I avoid the school holidays like the plague so don't find too much of a problem. I have seen it and where possible block them from getting past. I find using a ski pole to open their rear binding soon slows them down.

I put mine in my main bag, with my camera, googles, transceiver etc inside to protect them.

Most of it requires a short walk.

Is transfer time really a factor? I'm really not bothered how long it takes to get there as long as it's great when I do.

Don't let the run home stop you going to St Anton, it's simply too good for that. If it's crowded and icy take the lift down, problem solved.
