yet another knee question!
Started by User in Ski Fitness, 39 Replies
you lot must think I'm obsessed with my knees and skiing

with the sub zero temperatures over the last few days I've discovered that the cold really makes my knees hurt (post-op one particularly). The up side to this is that I've discovered it before my trip so can't blame it on the skiing

for my mcl knee I've got a bracesox lycra undergarment and a hinged donjoy brace. on my acl knee I've got a neoprene support, another lycra undergarment and then a couple of sports bandages for good luck. I'll also get my hands on some some foam (a la trencher). Just call me michelin woman!

so, my question is, would it do me any harm to put some hand warmers in between the layers somewhere under the kneecap? They get very hot and I wondered if anyone knows if this would do any harm? or shall I stick with what I've already got?

thanks
Caron

also, cut your toenails really short to make the boots as comfortable as possible, but that's a whole other subject

I can't believe you all missed this! Tony wouldn't have

Sorry James!

I'd recommend decent ski socks and in our family we wear silk inner gloves but that's personal preference.

I'd be jealous but I'm off to niederau in 13 days...

you'll love it! enjoy yourself

Thanks Caron. I go back to Niederau on on the 16th Jan for 16 days, so will be able to catch up with you and your OH, and mystery guest! My frau, two sons and D-I-L arrive on 24th.

Bought her a season pass last week, so might try and tempt her to join me on my March trip.

absolutely cannot wait!!! although, I'm feeling slightly nervous and having dreams about it every night, mostly not good

looks like our niederau trip will be a lot cheaper than tignes at easter then!

saying that, the husband has just read in the sunday times that some economist reckons we'll be getting back up to 1.25 in the next couple of months. fingers crossed

good luck  keep us up to date
