I've only ever skied in Scotland once, in Glenshee;
When Scotland does get snow, here's what happens..
But like the others have said, when it's good - It's really good.. When it's bad - It's really bad.. The time I was there it was alright to be honest, some icy parts and one or two closed runs, but other than that - worth the trip :) Best of luck! |

Thanks for the replies guys, just been having a look around and there are thousands of skis with thousands of differences between them and they all use words I don't really understand! haha, it's okay though..
Hmm, Tony.. I want to keep the twintip so I can do the odd jump here and there and ski backwards mainly.. I wouldn't go near rails with them, wouldn't want them scratched.. The current pair I have are for that :D I have noticed the Mission/Punishers from Scott and their prices aren't too bad either - but at the end of the day we get what we pay for - Hence the Lord's being almost 500 quid. One more small question - If I were to get the Lord's, what size would I be looking for? I'm 6'1, 15 stone in weight, progressing intermediate.. anyone know? :) My current skis are 176 i'm sure, they feel ok - perhaps a little bit too short sometimes, hard to judge as I haven't really had many different pairs of skis under my feet! |

Hey peeps, been looking into some depth on getting myself another pair of skis (I got myself a pair last year, twintip freestyle skis - Dynastar Nothin' but Troubles) however, I feel I could do with a pair of more stiff skis so they don't flex and flap around so much at high speeds going down some nice piste runs.
Only problem is, I wish to keep twintips as I quite enjoy the scene of skiing backwards :) So I was wondering, anyone ever owned/hired/tested the Salomon Lord's? I can go on a test run in the Xscape at Braehead but the only problem is it isn't really any real-life testing because you're limited to going down the same slope of same decent and can't even go very fast, so it's pretty useless I guess. I've read a lot of reviews of it being a good ski for anyone from intermediate to advanced, I do consider myself a progressing intermediate. Just wanna know what anyone on here thinks :) Thanks! |

That's excellent considering the week you're away!
I'm really hoping to get booked up soon, cannot wait :D |

Excellent! Hope you have a great time, never been to La Plange but I have heard it's a good resort :) What kind of price are you looking at for booking that DIY just now and how many of you are going, if you don't mind me asking? |

They aren't really an essential piece of kit to be honest, I only use one when packing my skis to put on the plane so they don't rub against too each other and possibly scratch.. hehe
But I guess if you're one for hiking it that bit extra up a slope you can't reach otherwise, yeah a ski tie would be good to make it easier to carry :) |

Hmm, DIY can be worth the effort sometimes, but if you have the ability and freedom to book a last minute and disappear in the next couple of days.. of course, booking package holidays last minute is probably anyones best bet.
Nothin in life is simple it seems :p but hey, it's damn worth it however, where-ever, whenever you're up in those slopes. |
