You must be incredibly unlucky, myself and a load of friends have racked up plenty days well below -30 in the Rockies without issue. No luck, eh.

Went to Smith glasses for yeasr but now have gone for the Smith IO. Man they are the dogs... Fantastic with or without a helmet. Easy change lenses too.

Liked them so much got the wife a pair too and believe it or not they improved her skiing. She can see the snow now.

Worth every penny

Smith have a good rep but Oakley's disintegrating? Never mind just one but 5 pairs? News to me.

I'm glad you've decided what to do about your boot problem.

I think we've all learnt something. According to Bandit I'm supposed to be doing my boots up starting at the top, not the bottom, and according to Trencher I'm not supposed to be slackening them off to walk to the toilet.

Does anyone know how some people manage to walk downstairs with their boots facing forwards? I always have to turn mine sideways, and I hold everyone up.

Ally

I walk on my heels down stairs in a duck-like stance. Does't seem to be any slower than normal. Do not try on icy steps.

I seriously don't understand what you are trying to say, maybe too early in the day.

Once my boots are done up for skiing I slacked the bottom 2 (sometimes 3 buckles) off for the lift ride (especially if it is cold). An instructor got me in to doing it once and I have never really gone back.
