Personal opinion-Soldeu is a hole. Try the Gastein Valley in Austria so Bad Hofgastein for example. It is a postcard type place with some excellent intermediate.beginner skiing.

If youa re getting them done and the bases only have a few scratches make sure they DO NOT grind the bases.

I get my skis serviced after 1 weeks skiing... It's for the best. Keep em in tip top condish.
