Lake Louise is probably my favourite of the 3 hills 'around' Banff. There is plenty to keep you occupied especially if you want to get a bit more in to 'off piste'. Not so much a ski from place to place and stop for a beer kinda resort. So much scope terrain wise especially when you start venturing off groomed runs. The views are amazing, see the hanging glacier above Lake Louise 8). I'd stay in Banff and check out both Sunshine and LL... for specific details shoot me a mail and I will deal you in. |

Think you just need to luck out with a deal, Whistler is a load more expensive than a lot of the Rockies. |

I should work for tourism Canada. Everyone should go once before they decide that they never want to ski in Europe again

Just Canada... Kicking Horse, Revelstoke, Sunshine/Norquay and Lake Louise I have done.

Well, everyone knows skiing in Europe is for the poor and Ian Wickham
Will need to hold out on December, snow isn't looking great although it was falling hard yesterday... January is more of a safe bet (albeit a little more expensive), save the skis (called the Rockies for a reason) :D Edit: going with my old man, things are less taxing on me financially then. The lift pass is the killer really,,, 6 day is running at $480 Canadian. |

Everything you can see is 'in bounds' apart from the mountains you can see behind ER1 and ER2 in this photo ;)
There is a lot of mellow terrain to be had, I just picked the most difficult ;) |

At Canadian ski hills there are 2 types of skiable terrain, 'in bounds' and 'out of bounds'. 'In bounds' is everything within the hills boundary line and it is all skiable unless it is an avalanche closure, all patrolled and avalanche controlled. 'out of bounds' is anything outside that line and is generally not patrolled/avalanche controlled unless a potential slide could impact the ski area. |
