Not been to Jasper but if it is anything like Banff then the 'sidewalks' will be cleared regularly after snowfalls. I have spent loads of weeks in Banff from December --> April and never needed anything other than trainers/smart shoes. No boots, in fact I took a pair of boots for the season and only wore them snowmobiling. Worth noting if you are intending to do anything along the lines of sledding or ice walks boots are essential  |

I skied maybe 15 days in Scotland last year (possibly more, not really sure), and most of them were 'nice'. I don't remember a day that I wasn't happy to be out in the mountains, had a day at Glenshee that was dark and snowing but it just meant fresh snow :D

That's what you get for buying a stepper  |

Ti spec = probably more expensive and with a stiff(er) flex you probably don't need. In some of my instructor exams the course conductor was on the standard Blackeyes and swore they were the best skis out (helps when you are sponsored by Atomic...), said they were quite soft longitudinally but very torsionally stiff. He also had the Crimsons and only took them out on 'deep' days ;) They are also exceptionally light (not skied them, just had a fondle) unless this has changed in the last 2 seasons, hmmm  I still quite fancy a pair of the older ones for Scotland skiing 8) |
