I quite often ski without a hat. If its a clear sunny day I hate to feel a hat on my head, making me sweat and itch. I can handle it when its cold enough to need one or dull (seems to make it seem colder) but when the sun is out I like to ski without a hat. I usually come back with a really brown face and head, being careful to avoid a goggle tan because as cool as some think they are, I think they look daft.
There is something nice about feeling the cold wind across your whole head as you ski along, as long as its not minus 15 or something.
Skidaddle's GF got sunstroke one day in Mayrhofen a couple of years back. She felt very wobbly and wasnt too good for a while.
Skidaddle usually misses one days skiing every trip due to a cold. Or at least thats what he calls it after a particularly heavy night on the ale )
Ok, its the first morning of your ski holiday....

I gotta get me one of those, they're fab! I suffered a day of sunstroke at Easter too, horrid it was
If you look here, you'll see one at work, keeping my chin warm :D
Then on another day keeping my head warm...
I think I must be a convert :D

I don't wear a hat unless my ears start to freeze or its snowing, if it's a blue-sky day and the temps aren't too bad I'll be hat-less.
Talking of sunstroke/burn, I burnt my face one year and was told to put flour on it, so I did, looking a bit of a donut, then my brother comes along and tells me, in all seriousness that flour is combustible and my face might explode if it gets too hot.
And yes I did believe him for about 30 seconds until he started laughing at me running around the room trying to get the flour off.
