How did you treat your sun stroke?

Went to bed and slept for 24 hours, drinking plenty of water whenever I could, was not a very pleasant experience

Well they shouldn't have laughed, they should have been grateful to have a mobile central heating system with them for a few days.

One of my friend's kids got sunstroke when he was on holiday here with us. He had a very high temperature (checked it with a thermometer) and we were really worried. We nearly took him to Casualty. We put him in the bath with ice in it, gave him plenty of water, and salt, and a banana. Apparently it's not a simple case of overheating and lack of water, but also lack of salts, and bananas have lots of potassium. Dioralyte would have been a good idea, but I didn't have any. Flat coke is also supposed to be good.

Anyway, we monitored his temperature, and it went back down in a couple of hours, so we didn't have to take him to Casualty. And he was fine afterwards.

So, you could have tried lying in the snow on the balcony, Ian, and drinking flat coke. Maybe you'd have been back ski-ing by the next day.

Nasty but right it could have been avoided by skiing back down to the apartment, I never carry spare hats because I never loose any thing, it was my favorite hat and I did not get back, and I have never
replaced that hat I still mourn it

Ps I do own a buff type thing brought for -23 conditions in Morillon some years ago
