Now that this has degenerated into a sexist disagreement, lets consider a few things:
1. The track was designed for boarder cross, not skier cross
2. The men are generally heavier and therefore carry more speed
3. It was snowing heavily during the womens races, slowing the track down
From what I saw, if a man gets in front, its much harder to pass as they carry their speed better. The women were coming from last place to win the heats because other racers lost their speed at vital points.
I dont think either was better than the other, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching both, as well as the boarder cross. Proper competitive and exciting events, compared to dullard stuff like curling for example.

It isn't sexist, I genuinely don't think the ladies racing was as good to watch (which it definitely wasn't). It might have been about conditions, or other variables, I don't know. The men are a lot more fluid and generate the speed that makes it properly exciting. The crashes were bigger too. Had it been the other way about with the men going slow due to sticky snow and the women flying along then my opinion would be different.
This applies to downhill racing and many other events. Maybe not halfpipe and other 'freestyle' events because the men generally go bigger and look a lot better in the air - just how it is.

By sexist I meant that the female poster (Claire) was saying the womens event was better and more skillful and that the men just pushed each other out of the way. Which was of course nonsense as pointed out above.
I prefered looking at the women anyway )

I thought the men's was better viewing. Not the ladies fault but the conditions were just not great for the event. It was a bit of a joke that some couldn't even get up & over the first bump. In addition most of them were catching the top of the hills after jumps, therefore slowing them down & enabling the other women to overtake.
