Hey guys.
Long time know talk. Hope you are all well and have enjoyed the first day of the new year! Back to work for me tomorrow. Sad times.
On a plus note though im hoping to go away for the last week of Jan and was hoping for abit of advise.
At the moment we are thinking of booking with ski Olympic and going back to La Roisere where we went last year and really enjoyed. Thanks to Ally for recommendation.
But as I like to try new places I am thinking of maybe trying Austria.
Does anyone have any good advise on what resorts are best and if there is a Chalet travel company like Ski Olympic that operate there? Iv looked online but cant seem to find much.
Cheers guys.

Hi Ash, welcome home... :)
See what happens with the snow before you make a decision; it does look as if the next 2 weeks will see a fair bit more fall in France than elsewhere, although just about everywhere should get a decent amount.

Hi Ash
If you fancy a chalet in Austria do look at the resort of Ischgl. Ski Total and Inghams, just to mention two companies, have chalets in this resort.Ischgl has a very modern lift system is linked to Samnaun in Switzerland and with a village height of around 1400 metres is guaranteed snow end of January. Also consider St. Anton and the Ellmau area all resorts offering plenty of chalet accommodation. Also loads of ski companies offering chalets in St. Anton-look online 'St. Anton Ski Chalets'. Best of luck.

Cheers guys ill have a look and see what I find.
Looking at the snow forecast on this site Mr Admin it seems there is quite abit of snow coming in France and the best burger iv ever tasted was from St Bernard Hotel/Restaurant in La Rosiere so may have to go back there!
But then I do want to travel to new places. hmmm

Knowing your background Sm4sh, I would avoid Ischgl and St Anton as you might find them too intimidating and difficult. As Admin says, see what happens with the weather, but if you do want to try Austria, maybe look at one of the resorts on the SkiWelt such as Soll.

Hi
After 40 years of skiing throughout Europe we now spend the whole winter in Austria based in Grossarl ( you will not find this in any UK brochure) - a beautiful valley with access to thousands of miles of piste and millions off piste. Look on the Grossarl website and you will find many apartments for rent. Fly into Salzburg and the train to St Johann en Pongau is less than an hour. Stay there or bus to Grossarl. Amazing powder day today - internet reports are generally not up to date.

Hey sorry I never noticed my email regarding a reply.
I have booked to go back to La Rosiere this coming Sunday. Staying in the Gran Planica chalet. I would like to go Austria. Will definitely try it sometime.
Is anyone else in La Rosiere next week? I fly out on the 24th.
