Werfenweng is very easy to reach from Salzburg, only 45km (27 miles) away. There are odd ski lifts dotted all around the valley containing Werfen, Werfenweng and Pfarrwerfen. The largest single area is at Tennegebirge, above Werfenweng, which also has a ski kindergarten.

The ski areas have expanded and modernised in recent years with a gondola lift and terrain park.

The Austrian ski resort of Werfenweng has direct access to 35km of downhill skiing, with 28 individual pistes, served by 11 ski lifts.

Snowmaking :- Werfenweng is able to augment natural snow, on 5km of ski runs, with 15 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 11 Ski Lifts of Werfenweng are able to uplift 8,800 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are five airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Werfenweng are perfectly feasible. Salzburg Airport is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
