Mühlbach is one of five resorts at the base of the Hochkönig ski area, itself part of the larger Ski Amade pass and that again swallowed up by the giant Salzburgerland pass.

But there's plenty to entertain without straying far from the local slopes, which extend to 34km (21 miles) and include a terrain park with half pipe. If you want a challenge try the Ostabfahrt black run, otherwise there's a good choice of blues (easy runs) and reds (Intermediate standard) to whizz down.

In addition to the skiing in Mühlbach am Hochkönig itself (160km of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Hochkönigs Winterreich ski resort of Maria Alm.
