The Afritz is a smaller ski resort at quite a low altitude (710 metres). It is aimed at winter sports enthusiasts who want more than just skiing and snowboarding.

Activities off the ski runs include ice skating, curling and ice surfing on the frozen surface of Lake Afritzer as well as cross-country skiing, sledding by moonlight, and snow-shoe hiking across snow-covered forests and gently rolling hills.

Afritz

The Austrian ski resort of Afritz has direct access to 16km of downhill skiing, with 6 individual pistes, served by 5 ski lifts.

With skiing above 2000 metres, snow cover is generally reliable.

Snowmaking :- Afritz is able to augment natural snow, on 4km of ski runs, with 50 Snow Cannons.

Ski Lift Capacity :- The 5 Ski Lifts of Afritz are able to uplift 3,400 skiers / snowboarders per hour.

There are four airports within two hours drive, so ski weekends, snowboard breaks and short ski holidays to Afritz are perfectly feasible. Klagenfurt Airport and Ljubljana Airport are just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.
