Me and my partner are just booking our first skiing in Italy but we have no idea what we actually need to take - can anyone help?
Cheers

Awesome!
Well assuming you've got jackets, trousers, gloves, goggles, hats etc?
I'd reccomend spending some money on some decent ski socks and some kind of blister treatment. I got corking blisters the first time I went because I did not have proper socks. Take some sun block and something for your lips too.
Also think about taking some base layers. Manmade, breathable fibre, lightweight tops. If you're learning then you'll be spending some time on the lower slopes alternating between lots of physical exertion and standing around so you need to be able to regulate your own body temperature. Cotton tops and t-shirts will soak up the sweat then might get really cold.
I bet everyone else has loads of other tips.

Welcome to a whole new world! 8)
For an idea of what you need, some of our more experienced folk are discussing What do you take for a week skiing. If there's anything you're not sure of, or don't understand then please ask.
Steve's comments w.r.t. base-layers are spot-on; you're going to get hot and sweaty, and then cold!

I hope you really enjoy yourselves wherever you go. The Italians are great fun on the slopes with a fair bit of posing, but the way the instructors look after their classes of small children is enchanting.
Have fun
