Help with technique

Yeah never never been that good at getting my knee down either. My angulation is better on my CRF though, I think foot out style is more my thing. Hang on a minute, aren't we on a ski site. :)
Telemark / Free-Heeling

I have done a week or two in the past on tele's and absolutely loved it. I was lured by the style and trying something different. When I first tried it was on some old skis with leather boots and found that I was falling forward a lot, which hurts by the way when you tw%t your knee on the edges of the skis. I have tried it again more recently with more modern equipment and it was much better. Unfortunately I found it was too hard on my knees and left me nearly crippled after a few days on them. I will have to stick to the fixed heals from now on.

If you want a new challenge then go for it.

Thanks for the advice but don't have a choice spending money on new ski boots instead. Maybe I will ski in the buff maybe able to do some pole plants then. :D

Hi peeps

Not a very good skier so thought I would look for some advice on how to improve.

I know that the camera work was done by some with the DT's so it is difficult to see but can anyone offer any hints on how I could improve.

I think that I have one turn stronger than the other judging by the plumes of snow?

My section starts at 03:04. The snow boarder comment at the end is a joke in case anyone takes offence.

Any advice greatfully accepted even if it is to give up and go home. :D

Les Deux Alpes recommendations

Hi Gooseh

I am going to Les Deux Alpes for the first time at the end of January. From looking at the website there is an easy link to La Grave which by all accounts looks like an offpiste mecha. Check http://www.la-grave.com/english/meije.php. From the piste maps and webcams it looks like there might be quite a lot of accessible off piste in the resort area as well.
Ski Boot Buying in London?
Started by User in Ski Hardware, 9 Replies
Hi peeps

Sorry for asking the same question that has been posted over and over again but need help in a bit of a hurry.

I live in Jersey and there is no where here to buy boots. I am coming over to the big rock (London in particular) on Wednesday and was looking for advice on wear to buy boots. I have very limited time, a few days, and cannot leave London.

I would like to buy a pair of boots that really fit.

I am unsure whether to stump up the £119 fitting charge for profeet or to buy from snow and rock/ellis brigham in Covent garden. I am going to get custom footbeds anyway as they seem very important for correct fit.

So the real question is Snow and Rock, Ellis Brigham or Profeet?

Please help getting worried I am not going to make the right decision.
