Montgenevre is a great option for what you are looking for and Serre Chevalier not bad either - you will want some of the chalets though that are ski in/ski out.
If you can fly from Gatwick, Montgenevre ec=ven better as some excellent flight prices to Turin with Easyjet as they have just started up the route again for next winter |

Was always a good event in Meribel - the comedic line up gets better each year so if you enjoy the comedy, the combination is hard to beat!

We have guests in on the 31st, 7 April and 14 April...the resort is at its best in the morning at this time of year but hardly waterskiing!!!!
Have a look at Montgenevre - good for beginners and intermediates and great value too.... |

Easter was a struggle last year as the snow was not so good across many/most of the alpine resorts and Easter was later in April! 31st March will be just fine this season - and it is a great all round resort with great extra activities to enjoy from the pool to the ice rink as well as ski joering, night skiing ete etc etc

Despite it being sunny and south facing, the resort is high and has a good snow record into April - was skiing there in April last year and it was better than many of the Northern French Alps resorts

Only problem with Zermatt is the prices are going sky high due to the exchange rate with the Swiss franc

You would be surprised the data you can get from the lift companies. Not all but many can give nationality break down and give details of shorter duration ticket sales which are increasingly significant.
Don't misunderstand me the report is written with an agenda in mind and that is to favour the tour operator but the independent market did stall a bit lasy year with a bunch of flying being cut into Turin and Grenoble As to the outlook the inflexible model of the likes of Crystal is under a lot of pressure but there is a wealth of smaller operators (like mine, Zenith holidays) that provides flexibility alongside bonding security and some extra buying power and some of the independent market appreciate that and are moving that way. Just my assessment though and the industry is in flux at the moment. Will be worth watching |
