Indeed,Sporthotel, you are correct, hence I unwittingly could have been fined last season!
My Alm bar friends have let me know that in order to avoid paying the vignette, you must exit the autobahn at Kiefersfelden, Germany.
The fine is 120€. a 10 day vignette is 8.70€

Yep, and having done it a few times it is as simple as stopping at the first petrol station on the motorway in Austria. No need for fuel, just buy the vignette.

It is the biggest distance but I say Solden as well. You can not fly on Innsbruck?? From Munich it is a 2 hour drive in quiet good circumstances. If the weather is snowy choose the right rental car!!
