Says the man who also has facial hair

I deliberately grow a beard in the week leading up to ski holidays as it keeps my chin warm!

Embrace your furry face and be a man El Taco! 8)

I'll try the scarf, although it keeps me a bit too warm. I'm learning a lot about balancing temps and layers to keep warm without sweating. As a mechanic, I can't stand the smell and consistency of anti-freeze, so I'll pass on that one, but a good idea all the same in this age of non-toxic coolants.

Man, to feel the breeze there again... I don't know. I'm kind of working on the walrus stache. It'd be a shame to shave off all that awkwardness that got me here.

And yes, I'd be one butt ugly woman. Glad I'm not so equipped.

I always have a 'stache and often grow some sort of beard in winter. I'm happy with keeping it trimmed to a decent length to keep the ice buildup reasonable. Real long hairs can turn into sharp icicles, they can hurt, lol.
For a cover up I would lean more to a balaclava than a scarf. They fit close to the neck, cover the head and ears and make a good underlay under the helmet (or hat if your so inclined), and store very easily in a pocket if temps go up.
Scarves (and rightly so) have a bad reputation of getting caught in moving things, usually at the most inconvenient time, aka getting caught in the chairlift or gondola door as your trying to get off. Unfortunately the other end is secured around your neck. Your call, but that's why they call them "The Darwin Awards". YMMV.

Good point BerettaRacer.

I use one of those neck snoods. Easy to keep in a pocket if it is too warm, very comfortable when just cool. But also very easy to pull up so it covers your mouth, ears and up under your helmet if it gets really cold and/or windy.

This sort of thing.

I wear one of these too, my son calls it a buff but at my age that has other connotations for me!!

Anyway, it keeps the icicles off my tashe
I can see my house from here...
