We ski regularly in Grandvalira (as we only live 2h30 away it is doable in a day!) and we really like it - and we are good skiers. Yes, it lacks th charm of Austrian resorts but the skiing is good, there aren't too many queues and last season the snow was great!

Hi, we are new to forum here so you may be all sorted. El Tarter is a quieter village than Soldeu. As the areas are linked, you can choose to ski down to Soldeu for apres ski and then take the bus back to El Tarter. New in El Tarter is the L'Abertset bar at the foot of the slopes whcih has become a good apres point with heated terrace and Dylans Bar Lounge which is now known for apres and later night partying. The ski school is superb and the kids will really enjoy this. Several tour operators arrange things from el tarter during the week including trips to Andorra la Vella shopping and Caldea Spa and up to Soldeu for organised events. We are based in Soldeu so any other questions, we will try and help.
